Ethiopian Women in Energy (EWiEn) Association, in the Partnership with the Ethiopian-German Energy Cooperation, organized a half day workshop at the WeVenture in Addis Ababa on 12 April 2025, from 2:00 .Pm – 5:30 Pm.  Total of 41 Participants were participating in the session.

This workshop explored the current status of climate finance, identify key requirements and strategies for securing funding from institutional investors such as Private Equity Funds, and explored how projects can raise capital through the Ethiopian Securities Exchange.
The thematic workshop on Alternative Financing for Energy Projects in Ethiopia underscored the importance of adopting diverse financing mechanisms, such as public-private partnerships and green bonds, to attract investment in the energy sector. Participants highlighted the necessity of a robust policy framework to build investor confidence and streamline project financing. Additionally, capacity building among stakeholders, fostering collaboration between the government and private sector, and engaging local communities were identified as critical components for success.
