Welcome to the Association where you will be nurtured, Mentored , Supported and Empowered, by women who have years of experience and have come together to help their fellow women in Energy.
HOW IT STARTED
EWiEn was initiated by five Ethiopian women professionals in the energy sector in January 2019. They shared a strong interest in the energy transformation in Ethiopia and the role of women in the energy sector. They had a chance to find that they had much more in common and decided to start the first association promoting the role of women in the energy work space….
WHERE WE ARE NOW
As of 2022, the Ethiopian Women in Energy Association has more than 300 members. Our members are professionals working in the Ethiopian energy sector, who can be Engineers, financial experts, lawyers, technicians, entrepreneurs, and more.
HOW WE OPERATE
EWiEn is governed by the executive committee, who are elected by the members during the annual general assembly.
The Executive Committee works closely with the staff to implement the decisions of the board and carry out the society’s activities.
